This equipment location was in the south end of the Ops Building. Just barely visible to the left is the entrance to the Army Sigs van which contained the BC-610 Tx, used for out outgoing traffic to Ottawa. I could use it during traffic blackouts. I'm kneeling beside the AN/FRT-501 Tx, a backup but which was sort of dedicated to my use. Though crystal controlled I slightly modified it to run with VFO control from a very stable Sig Gen that's visible. It was also further slightly modified to run DSB, along with AM and CW. I can assure you it was restored to its natural state before I climbed on the North Star a/c to leave Alert in early March 58.
