Dear Fellow Signallers;

     This is your formal notice to attend our mostly annual Reunion. Since we took last year off to attend the 5 year reunion in Kingston, Swampy, Frank and I are hoping that we are going to have a great turnout this. We can do this if a few more of you stir up your memories, jump in your car and head for the Island, up Island or down Island to Qualicum Beach. This would also apply of course to all you guys who hang out in Alberta. Come on out and have a great time. Would be great to have you attend. Since we are a non-profit organization, all our funds are raised through generous donations to our "kitty" by you the attendees. This is what enables us to do this every year. It is a good time for all!!
PLEASE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE WE WOULD REQUEST THAT YOU CONTACT ONE OF US BY AT LEAST AUGUST 1, 2009, AND LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING. This would greatly assist us in planning the food etc.
I will be away from July 11 to July 24, 2009, so please use Frank and Swampy as the contact during this time frame.!

     Reunion 2009 will be held in August, Friday - Saturday - Sunday 28-29-30. Again this year we will be gathering at the Qualicum First Nation Campground. The format will be the same as previous years with a Meet & Greet on Friday afternoon/evening. Finger food will be available, prepared by Nina Palmer-Stone and assisted by Frank. Saturday is the main day in which we expect everyone not camping to put in an appearance. Food for Saturday will be available in the form of hamburgers and hotdogs off the BBQ and whatever else we can come up with. As usual, all food will be supplied by Swampy's "Road Kill Cafe". It has an excellent reputation for fine burgers and hot dogs!! Sunday we are again contemplating a Pancake Breakfast.

     The Campground is located north of Qualicum Beach astride the Big Qualicum River. It is just off the "Oceanside Highway", or Highway 19A. We will be on the north side of the river. After you turn off highway 19A (you can't miss the sign), proceed through the gate and past the Campground Office and we will be just ahead about 100 yards and facing the BEACH. Parking for those not camping will be in the field just past our camp area. For those of you who will be camping over for the 2 nights, there are washrooms and showers available. The camping fee will be aprx $18.00 per night per unit/tent. Also normally there is a $5.00 per person per day picnic fee for people dropping in which they have waved for a $50.00 payment to cover the entire weekend. Our "kitty" will take care of this.

     For those of you who may be travelling the new Inland Island Highway, or Highway 19, take Exit 75 for the "Oceanside Highway" (19A). Exit 75 is Horne Lake Road. Follow it down to 19A and turn left. The campground is about 2 minutes along and on the right.

     Camping check-in will be any time after 1100 hours on Friday. They don't seem to be too worried about when we leave on Sunday. Everyone should be clear by 1330 hours at the latest.

     Hope to see as many of you as possible August 28-30, 2009.

     Get on the phone guys to people who don't normally come and urge them to do so. The time for thinking about it is past.

Sincerely

Jim Troyanek
