Pat's Bracelet

Webmaster's narrative.

Pat and her classmates were the first female morse code graduates at Vimy Barracks in Kingston.
From there they returned to Leitrim to learn the Kana Kata code (Japanese). They were the first
graduating class in Kana Kata, 15 March 1943. For this they were each presented with a bracelet (abv).

The inscription on the bracelet included besides the obvious, "1SWS" which was Leitrim.
"W3401", Pat's regimental number. She was female! "W", from #3 Military District
(Peterborough-Toronto) and "401", the 401st to enlist. Did I mention she lied about
her age and joined when she was 16 years of age!!!!
