3SWS Civilian Gals Arrive March 1946

"The civilian gals arrived at 3SWS. Pictures taken March 1946. (That's when we were
copying Chinese plain language and Russian -- I suppose Soviet -- coded messages.) Code
was similar to the Japanese Kana but not as many barred letters to transcribe.

BR - Lloyd Skogman, Ina Waller, and "Snuffy" Hogan
MR - Pat Moyles and Elizabeth "Red" King (she was obviously a redhead!)
FR - Norma Gomez and supervisor Bill Thorpe

2nd Picture is of Ina Waller on duty in front of a double-banked Super Pros. Picture
dated March 1946. That appears to be Norma in the background.
Webmasters note: "Suprer Pros" refers to the Hammarlund SP600, an excellent
receiver for intercept work.
